Agreement between Buyer and Seller

1. This kitten is being sold as PET ONLY.

2. The buyer, at their expense, agrees to have the kitten examines by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of obtaining the kitten. If, at this examination, your vet determines that the kitten has a life threatening, GENETIC illness and is then verified by my personal vet, the seller with then provide a full refund of the purchase price of the kitten ONLY. All vet expenses, including those from my personal vet, incurred will be at the buyers expense. Under NO circumstances shall the seller be responsible for any expense of medical treatment the kitten may incur AFTER it has left the cattery.

3. THIS KITTEN MUST BE SPAYED/NEUTERED BY THE TIME THE KITTEN IS SIX (6) MONTHS OF AGE
Buyer agrees to provide documentation form a licensed veterinarian illustrating proof of the alteration of the kitten. At that time, and only at that time, will the seller send the registration papers in for the kitten.

4. If the kitten should die before the age of two (2) years, DUE TO A GENETIC DEFECT, the seller will replace the kitten with first acceptable kitten (if the breeder is still breeding). The owner MUST provide a necropsy report, which verifies the death was due to a GENETIC issue and not that of an illness or injury the kitten might have acquired in the buyers care. The necropsy MUST be performed at an independent facility, not by your veterinarian or his/her affiliates. Buyer is responsible for all charges incurred with said necropsy.

5. I give two series of vaccinations for each kitten (at 9 weeks of age and 12 weeks of age). They are given a three-way vaccine for upper respiratory protection. It provides protection against feline Rhinotracheitis (modified live), Calici (modified live), and Panleukopenia (killed virus). When the kitten goes to his/her forever home at 12 weeks or older, the kitten has had all of its kitten vaccines. Worming are given at 5 weeks, 7 weeks, and 9 weeks. If you wish to give your kitten the Leukemia or FIP vaccines, we ask that you wait until the kitten is at least six (6) months of age, this is due to their slow maturing immune system and is found to be a much safer age. We do not recommend the FIP vaccine.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR VET CHOOSES NOT TO RECOGNIZE MY VACCINES, RECOMMENDS YOU GIVE THE KITTEN ANOTHER SERIES OF VACCINES, AND YOU CHOOSE TO PROCEED WITH ADDITIONAL KITTEN VACCINES, YOU ARE VOIDING THIS CONTRACT IN WHOLE. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WILL THE SELLER BE HELD RESPONSIBLE TO UP HOLD ANY OF THIS CONTRACT IF MORE VACCINES IN THE KITTEN SERIES ARE GIVEN.

I ________________________________________________ have read and fully understand this agreement, and I am at least 18 years of age.

Useful Items for your New Kitten

1. Your kitten is currently on ____________________________. I am providing you will some of their current food.

2. Always make sure your kitten has access to fresh water. I use a fountain style drinking system. Ragdolls like moving water and entices your kitten to drink plenty of water, which helps to flush their kidneys.

3. All of our kittens are taught by their mother, and therefore know how to use a scratching post. In addition, they like to climb on cat trees. This will eliminate the need to declaw your kitten. I personally have leather furniture and do not allow them to use it as a scratching post. I also trim their nails as needed with clippers. Due to the laid back nature of the breed, Ragdolls rarely use their claws. I do not recommend you declaw your new kitten/cat in case, god forbid, he/she were to get outside and would need to defend itself. We recommend you do your research on the procedure and effects of declawing your kitten/cat. It may just change your prospective on the procedure. If you are bound and determined to declaw your new pet, we would prefer you to use the laser technique as it is more humane.

4. The litter that your kitten is current using is _________________________________. I also find that instead of using regular litter pans, a large plastic tote with an opening cut into the side for easy access is better for the kitten/cat to use due to the large size.

5. At 9 weeks of age (after their first set of shots) your kitten is bathed and groomed once a month until they go to their forever home. This includes cleaning out their ears and nails trimmed. They are brushes once a week beginning at 5 weeks of age to help adjust them to the grooming process. We recommends a soft slicker brush AS WELL as a comb. The comb is important, since the brush only takes care of the top of their coat, the comb is needed to get down to the skin to prevent matting. When bathing your kitten/cat, any kitten/cat shampoo will do, also make sure all of the shampoo is rinsed out of the animal before they are dried off. You can also have your new kitten/cat professionally groomed. This will help with hairballs and shedding. Yes Ragdolls do shed. Many sites try to convince customers into believing the fact that they dont shed, but they do. They do shed less than other cats.

6. A cat collar with a bell and name tag with your number on it can a will come in handy. Be sure to purchase a CAT collar as they have a break away feature in case your cat were to get caught up on something.

7. A pet carrier for visiting the vet and the groomer. The kitten in which you purchased from us are used to traveling in a car. At the age of 9 weeks, kittens go with me to and from work, almost every day. This helps them get used to riding in a carrier in a car as well as exposing them to many different sounds and situations. This aids in making them a more confident kitten in new situations.

8. While you kitten is in my care, they are born in a private room at my home. The mother and kittens have a whole room to themselves. At about 5 weeks of age they start to venture out into the rest of my home. They are around my Yorkies and Newfoundland. They interact with my other cats (2 of which are barn cats that adopted me). They also have fish tanks and different types of birds. This way I feel they will be ready for all different types of animals their forever homes might have or acquire.

9. Keeping the kittens till at least 12 weeks there is a crucial mental, emotional, and developmental mile stones that a kitten will experiences between 6 to 12 weeks of age. Separating the kitten from mother and siblings, and familiar surroundings at that age can cause undue anxiety and stress at the least, and serious medical problems. And worst case death.

10. Toys are completely up to you. Balls are always a huge hit. Try different toys to see what he/she likes. I do send the kitten home with a toy and a tie blanket. This has a familiar scent to comfort them if needed.
